MEET PAM DOMBROWSKI
Re-design is woven into the origins of edit HOME furnishings. Re-examining classics in newer more modern ways while not forsaking the original style is our name sake.
Each home or object whether salvaged or existing is taken into consideration because it is unique and even more so, once edited. In that sense edit HOME is about rescue and frugality. It’s about recognizing bygone virtues and following traditions of previous generations. The generation, hum hum, that doesn’t through it away! It is about reparation. It is about sometimes buying new, not always buying new; it is about creating atmospheric change in our life rather than acquiring more.
The soul of my design style is deeply rooted in my Scandi. DNA and when I embarked on my design hike many moons ago, I didn’t even know there was a name for it.
The Danes say hygge, (adopted in the U.S., struggling to remain true to its heritage), the Finns. say kalsarikanni and the Swede’s say mys.
The literal meanings vary but the distilled expressed meaning is similar; happiness at home…unattached from price tag. Leave your shoes at the door. Ah, feels like home.
